Oman floats 11 tenders for Sharqiya internal roads
Oman's regional municipalities ministry has floated 11 tenders for the design and construction of internal roads in South and North Sharqiya, Muscat Daily has reported. Five of the tenders are for the design and construction of roads in South Sharqiya governorate in the wilayats of Sur, Jalan Bani Bu Ali, Jalan Bani Bu Hasan, Al Kamil & Al Wafi and Masirah. Expansion of Sohar Port container terminal launched
Oman International Container Terminal (OICT) has launched construction work on its modern terminal at the Port of Sohar, Oman Daily Observer has reported. The project, estimated to cost around OR50m, will boost the capacity of the terminal from the current 800,000 TEU to 1.5 million TEU. A further expansion is envisaged in Phase II of the terminal's development centring on Terminal D, targeted for completion by 2018, which will open up an additional capacity of 2.5 million TEU.

Muscat municipality proposes marine taxi service in governorate
The Muscat municipality has recommended providing marine transportation between the wilayats of the Muscat governorate through the National Ferries Co (NFC) to alleviate traffic congestion in the streets, Times of Oman has reported. The proposed project will give citizens and residents more transportation options within the Muscat governorate that are both easy and convenient to use, the study said. The project will encourage the use of mass transportation and will give passengers the opportunity to see tourist sites all over the Muscat governorate's coast, the civic body said.

Kerzner, Al Khozama to develop KSA's first One&Only resort
Saudi developer and owner of luxury hotels Al Khozama Management Co, in partnership with Saudi Oger, has signed an agreement with Kerzner International Holdings to develop and operate the first One&Only resort in in the kingdom, Saudi Gazette has reported. The 95,000 sq m, 150-key luxury resort will be located in Obhur, north of Jeddah and would feature world-class dining and retail options, a health spa and meeting facilities.

Saudi Chambers to set up body to safety in amusement parks
The Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) has decided to set up a national centre for safety in amusement parks across the kingdom to provide adequate precautions for families visiting these facilities, Arab News has reported.
