Erg Sabrina

Description & Location

Erg Sabrina, a small isolated reef, is located in the middle of the Giftun Straight about 150 meters from Shaab Sabrina. The seabed is white sandy bottom averaging in depths ranging between 10 - 12 meters. A great site for photographers. To the north of the erg a small erg supports a large community of glassfish, while fire coral is found on the east and west sides.

About the Dive

Same conditions as near Shaab Sabrina, the surface is very calm but it is not unusual to experience unexpected strong currents at different places on this dive. From the mooring point, go directly to either side of the erg and head north. Plan to go around this erg starting at the south end which will put you back to the mooring point.

Reef Life & Special Interests

What makes this dive so special is the variety of fish and marine life often seen here. You may see Arabian angelfish, turtles, puffers, goatfish, emperor angelfish, lobsters, nudibranches and lots of smaller reef fish.
