About the Dive
If winds are strong it may be choppy on the way to the site however, once a boat ties to a mooring, rough waves diminish. Currents are typically mild. Most of this reef appear dull and lifeless, however the three ergs north of the tongue make this site worthwhile. These ergs are home to an incredible colony of marine life that fascinate divers of all levels.

Reef Life & Special Interests
The Abu Nugar reef holds a variety of table corals, hard corals and brain corals.  Fish life includes parrotfish, unicorn fish and lots of broomtails.
