Description & Location
An extension of the Umm Gamar reef, this reef starts about 1 kilometer south of Umm Gamar, it is the top of an underwater mountain. The reef wall drops to around 15 - 18 meters on the west side, and is clustered with caves and overhangs. Beyond this point, the plateau slopes away gradually to 30 meters to a drop off. Most of the plateau averages between 15 - 30 meters. On the eastern side the slope is very steep and plummets quickly to excessive depths. The remains of 3 Egyptian vessels  lies here worth visiting. The reef is long and narrow on the east and south sides. The west side has a sandy bottom and broader seabed.

About the Dive
There is a lot less protection in this area, unlike Umm Gamar but this usually does not cause problems with boats mooring here. Typically the current runs moderately strong along the east side. Diving here is fantastic and often preferred as a drift dive. If you want to include the Egyptian wreck as part of your dive, you will want to start the dive at the mooring point. Go straight to the reef and with your left shoulder next to the reef, head south. All along this area you will see many overhangs and caves. If you continue around the reef after visiting the wreck, you can expect to be going into the current. On your way back just before reaching the mooring point, stop by the small erg at 15 meters. If you make a drift dive instead, you will make it along the east wall.

Reef Life & Special Interests
Living around on the plateau itself you can see moray large groupers, blue spotted stingrays, and occasionally napoleons. If you make this dive in the afternoon you have a good chance to see jackfish, large tuna and white tip sharks passing by near the drop offs.
