Description & Location
North Abu Ramada is located about an hour from Hurghada. It is a small island with a long plateau that starts where at the island and continues out to about 20 - 30 meters, gradually tapering off. On the east side there is a sheer drop off with a vertical wall facing south. Similar to Umm Gamar, a Halg is on the east side where boats often wait for divers.

About the Dive
Typically rough seas prevent boats from mooring in this area with the exception of near the Halg on the east side. Weather cooperating, occasionally boats can moor on the plateau. With very strong currents present most of the time, this site is usually made as a drift dive. Once there, if the captain cannot moor the boat, the only option is a drift dive. Start by entering the water directly north of the reef and immediately head east toward the drop off. You should see a large coral formation around 15 - 20 meters, with the drop off starting at 25 meters. Keep a close look out for a strange looking dome shape formation (the top is at about 20 meters). Go down to around 31 meters and look for a huge cave that towers upwards to 25 meters, located just north where the plateau turns into a wall. When you finish seeing the cave continue along the wall in a southern direction. You'll recognize this area when the water becomes very blue. Depending where your captain moored, he should be in the near vicinity.

Reef Life & Special Interests
This area is not know for smaller fish but you may see tuna, barracuda and jacks. Occasional sights of sailfish and hammerhead sharks have been reported.
